After its worst losing streak of the season, Pete Alonso once again saved the Mets from the depths of despair by sending a ball over the right field wall. Will the Polar Bear's heroics ignite the team after an otherwise ice cold week? Soto's season is historic, yes, but has it been as helpful as it should be? Are the Mets able to take solace in that they still hold a playoff spot after all this? We'll discuss the team's starting pitching plan for the upcoming week and check on what's going down in the minor leagues. We'll also recap Alumni weekend and share a take on what we, and MLB, can learn from the Savannah Bananas and their game of play. Another Mets pitcher makes his MLB debut, and pitches quite well too. However, the team was unable to come through as after building momentum in the Motor City, it was given a red light in Cincinnati. On this week's episode, we talk about Brandon Sproat's debut along with his fellow rookie hurlers, too. Is their success so far enough to get the Mets' through the rest of the way? Is Soto about to have a September to remember? We recap the highlights of week 1 of the NFL season. After hopes of their first winning road trip since June, the Mets once again fell short of coming through, instead splitting the series' two. On this week's episode, we dive into the up and down week for the starting pitching, highlight the resurgence of the Met offense, specifically Mark Vientos, as well as discuss another potential pitching promotion from Triple-A. We then go long on an NFL preview while serving up some US Open Tennis talk, too. We're back and so are the Mets (maybe?)! After getting swept and experiencing an additional three difficult defeats, the team rebounds to take two out of three against the Mariners. On this week's episode, we talk about the recent stretch of play, celebrate Pete Alonso becoming the home run King of Queens, and discuss the debut of Nolan McLean. Then we round out the show previewing the road ahead as the Mets venture down to D.C. and Atlanta for a pair of series they desperately need. While for the entire season up to this point the Mets have loved some home cooking, this past week they got cooked by both the Giants and Guardians. On this week's episode, we talk about the terribly bad homestand the team had while asking ourselves what's wrong with the offense? After an up and down week out west, the Mets head back to New York with some new faces awaiting them. Back from the break, and after losing the first two, the Mets came back and continued to find ways to come through. The Mets wrapped up the first half of their schedule with another split of a road trip in Baltimore and KC. On this week's episode, we discuss the week that was, including the returns of both Kodai Senga and Sean Manaea from injury. The Mets respond from their dreadful series in Pittsburgh by coming home and taking back-to-back series from the Brewers and Yankees. On this week's episode, we cover the highlights of the week that was, talk about the lineup change that swung momentum back the Mets' way along with the reinforcements possibly arriving in the coming days. We'll also discuss Mike Brown being hired to take the helm of the basketball team over at MSG. Is he the right guy to lead the Knicks to victory? Then we'll round out the show by previewing the week ahead before next week's All-Star Game puts the regular season (temporarily) to bed. Trips to both Baltimore and Kansas City are on the way, so how will the Mets wrap up their first half of play? I also have a trade idea that would bring a certain pitcher back for another stay. The woes on the road continue as after fighting back to get a split of the series at home against the Braves, rather than righting the ship, we’re back to feeling like it's sinking again. On this week's episode, we'll continue our Mets' therapy session as we try to make sense of the nonsensical, historic series sweep defeat by the hooked hand of the Pirates. Can the pitching staff withstand another crucial injury to its rotation? When will the offense outside of Soto wake up again?
