  • Ep6 RiSE

In October 2014, the RiSE Lantern Festival was celebrated for the first time in the United States. Traditionally, this religious festival happens once a year in Chiang Mai, Thailand. But with the help of the Bureau Land Management and engineers to design lanterns with ultra-specific burn rates, the RiSE Lantern Festival was born. In this episode, you will hear why people travelled all the way to the Mojave Desert just to set paper lanterns of light into the night sky.

  • Ep4 72HourBag

Cinematographer Giovani Lampassi was filming on location in Louisiana in 2005 when Hurricane Katrina hit. He witnessed first hand the devastation of the people and how quickly their belongings became reduced to what could fit in a garbage bag. This got him thinking about how he could be prepared for the eventual earthquake in Los Angeles.

In this episode, we talk about what a 72 hour bag is, how you can have one, what goes in one and why.

Giovani has worked on shows like Party Down, Up All Night, Brooklyn Nine-Nine, and SuperStore. He's known amongst his friends and colleagues as being "uber prepared". He encourages all of his co-workers and family members to have a 72HourBag, and he's spent hours and hours of his personal time combing over the details of his bag and perfecting it to a science.

  • Ep2 Heidi's Worms

Heidi loves her worms and could spend hours with them. Heidi's worms live in her laundry room in double aerated Sterlite bins. They are part of a type of compost called Vermicompost which is a fancy word for worm composting helping restore nutrients back to our soil.

In this episode, I talk with Heidi about the importance of worms and how they effect our soil as well as how to start your own Vermicompost bin.

I also talk with Mr. Will Allen CEO of Growing Power home of the largest urban farm in the world. Will Allen has been named top 100 most influential people in the world in Time Magazine. He is on the progressive forefront of teaching people all over the world the importance of worms and how properly using them restores health to the soil.

  • Ep1 Cereal For Humanity

Hans Obma enjoys cereal. As it turns out, so do most Americans. It's estimated 49% of Americans start their day with cereal. Each person consumes 160 bowls of cereal each year. Americans buy around 2.7 billion boxes of cereal per year. A study done in 2013 reported $11 billion dollars in cereal sales alone. The US ranks #4 in cereal consumption with Ireland leading the way, followed by England and Australia. In this first episode, I talk with actor and writer Hans Obma about his one true love... cereal.

Thank you to Kellogg's, Gabe Fonseca of Cereal Time, Michael Jamieson of Food Review UK.
