I Love this episode because Jesus gets real. We start to see the man and God as one. I think most people have this perception that God is all friendly and full of good cheer always, but Jesus shows us how people have this propensity to test the lord and his abilities, but glory is to the lord because he never backs down from opposition. After all, he is king. Take note: of the way that the lord uses John the Baptist to prepare the people for his coming. Realize also that the book of john is notably the start of how one should read the bible (as a whole) to get to know Jesus, who is God, Elohim, Jehovah our savior.

Kind, but stern when it came to his belief in the Lord on account of the things he had witnessed. This is John's testimony during a time when people could only hope to experience the glory of God.
