It's not uncommon to hear the phrase "panas lah!" coming from friends and family over the past few months. We do, of course, live in a tropical climate, so this is usually dismissed as being just the way things are for our country. However, it was reported that this week saw the hottest global temperature ever recorded, according to data from two climate tracking agencies in the United States and Europe. So it's not just us, it's the whole world. So we unpacked this new temperature record, and what it means for Malaysia in terms of how we can better mitigate our climate crisis.
