Brendan’s T-cells were collected in mid-October.  Since then, we’ve been waiting for insurance approval, and genetic modification of the cells.

Episode Two picks up on the story of Brendan’s diagnosis.  We finally get back to Dallas, and begin treatment at Children’s Medical Center.

Welcome to our CAR T-Cell Journey podcast!  Our first episode explains how this whole thing started.  Brendan is a 20-year-old guy who was living in Minneapolis when he was diagnosed with B-Cell Acute Lymphoblastic Leukemia (ALL) with a Philadelphia-like chromosome.  Brendan tried chemo, of course, but unfortunately he didn’t respond to that treatment.  We are very fortunate that CAR T therapy is available for this specific type of leukemia.  It’s the bleeding edge of medical technology.
