The first topic of discussion is how did Charlie meet up with Avril? This is an easy answer. Avril met Charlie through his Father Laurence who took both Avril and her Husband on a tour of the families Castle. After meeting Charlie and his sister at their home Avril and her Husband ended up living next to the Oliphants and this is where they began to forge their friendship!
Avril, her husband, and Charlie's Father Laurence were together one night and Charlie approached Avril and asked her if she would like to film him lifting some stones. Remember this everyone that this was over two years ago and Avril was embarking on something big here. She agreed to film Charlie and when she saw the stone he was going to lift she was amazed by it. What really got her hooked she tells M&M was the sheer fire in Charlie's eyes!
Avril like so many of us has seen first hand the Power of Stone lifting with the younger kids and the confidence it builds in them right away. No one at any Ardblair Stone event is ever going to tell you that you can't do this. This impressed Avril even more as she became more and more involved in this.
GRANITE has so many great things attached to this Documentary whether it's the great athletes Avril interviews for this piece, the road map she is creating for the people who have never witnessed a stone lifting event. By giving them the ability to witness these Men and Woman of might it just might get them off their duff and begin a similar quest with their life to become and capture their own Greatness! Charlie feels that GRANITE is a big thank you to so many people who have helped him succeed in the last few years especially and his biggest wish is that so many of the greats he is associated with finally get the recognition for all the hard work they've put in through the years to become the best they can be!
