A recent experience left me broken but not defeated. I felt lighter and happier after crying. I realized the misery in racists becomes more pronounced when they see a happy black person. They get angry that a black person is so soft, beautiful, and happy. Qualities that they think should only belong to them. My happiness is quite unparalleled and it makes the racists (WHICH COME IN ALL COLORS) miserable.
This is a harsh one. It’s not my intention to hurt feelings. I’m just tired of the bullsh*t. Like shut up. I’m not your mammy.
This also can pertain to black men of all spectrums, but I focus more on the girlies in my life in this one. But again, black men this definitely pertains to you. you leave me alone too LOL.
*Sorry for the audio... I'll move away from the mic next time LOL*
Operative word: FEEL.
Despite being very fortunate to have people in my life who care about me, there are moments when those people can feel nonexistent or unreachable.
While journaling my feelings, I decided to take a moment and capture how I was feeling.
Life is about perspective. I have to shift my gaze and my point of reference. I have the power to see the abundance and blessings around me.
Unfortunately, to do so I must be real and acknowledge where I am starting from, and that is what this episode is.
Me being me, which is unabashedly emotional and clumsily honest, comes with consequences. Consequences that can sometimes feel incredibly grave; however, it is integral to my development and well-being to be true to who I am.
So, here is an honest and sad expression of how I am currently feeling.
Note to self: You are never alone. Your feelings matter. All of them. Even if they feel untrue. Even if they feel bad. Even if they leave you confused. Your feelings exist to let you know where you're at, and sometimes that's the most it'll ever do... which can suck like hell.
But remember: you are not alone.
A very impromptu RANT and pod episode. Just expressing my feelings and the irony I see in life right now.
I'm BACK! Relaunching this bad boy, but with more intention and care.
I'll keep my podcasts short, pre-written, and soft. I love you all and thank you for listening!
Let me get candid with you all.
Non-voters are the actual revolutionaries of our time, GO DEBATE YOUR MOM!
Not everyone is meant to be revolutionary, so check your ego at the door, k?
TW: First episode includes trauma, scapegoating, and childhood.
Disclaimer: Despite my emotional candidness, I love my parents. They're amazing people simply for working as hard as they did to ensure I had a bright future.
