Sean Canan has played in Falling Fences and Bockman for most of his musical career, but a few years ago he started a weekly gig that has evolved into the most epic of tribute projects. Every Wednesday night at the Broadway Oyster Bar in downtown St. Louis, Sean Canan's Voodoo Players dive into the catalog of a well known artist.They've covered Bob Dylan, Phish, The Band, Simon and Garfunkel, Jimi Hendrix, and lots, lots more. Each week, Sean puts together a different band consisting of musicians that are seasoned in the particular genre at-hand.In this episode, we talk to Sean about his Voodoo Players project, and his experiences as a musician in St. Louis in general.We also discuss contemporary soul music with DJ and radio promoter Chris Sanley, and hear a new cut from pop band Whoa Thunder.
