Joining us for episode 16 of Mound Talk Podcast is Tyler Pike of the Fargo-Moorhead RedHawks. Tyler was drafted by the Seattle Mariners in the 3rd round of the 2012 draft. After spending 2012-16 with Seattle, Tyler was traded to the Atlanta Braves in 2017 and spend time with them until 2018. While spending this offseason preparing for his upcoming season with the redhawks, Tyler also picked up a coaching job at a local college. 

Episode 15 of Mound Talk Podcast is a little different, We are joined by Seattle Mariners play by play announcer Dave Sims. Dave has been with the Mariners since 2007 as their announcer, but had previously worked for ESPN as-well as other talk and radio shows. As I created this podcast, the goal was to branch out and have other individuals who have impacts on the game of baseball and Dave is our first guest.

Joining me today on episode 14 of Mound Talk Podcast is 2012 first round pick Nick Travieso. Nick is a pitcher from south Florida who had committed to the university of Miami until being drafted by the Reds in 2012. After being a free agent during this past covid shutdown, Nick went out to Puerto Rico to play winter ball and as of the day we recorded this, Nick signed to play Indy ball with the Kansas City Monarchs.

On episode 13 of Mound Talk Podcast, We are joined by Cardinals lefty pitcher Austin Warner. Austin played four years at Bellarmine University before going undrafted and playing Indy ball for a season and a half. While playing for the River City Rascals of the Frontier league, Warner was signed by the St Louis Cardinals to play affiliated ball. Since being signed, warner has cruised through the ranks.

Will Klein of the Kansas City Royals joins Mound Talk Podcast for our twelfth episode. Will was drafted by the Kansas City Royals in the 5th round of the 2020 mlb draft. Will previously played college ball at Eastern Illinois University and played summer ball in the North Woods League. On this episode of Mound Talk Podcast,  we aare joined by pitchers Logan Bawcom.  Logan played college baseball for Midland CC and UTA before getting drafted by the Los Angeles Dodgers in the 2010 mlb draft. Bawcom spent 2010-2012 with the Dodgers before getting traded to the Seattle Mariners in a trade that sent Brandon League to LA. Logan spent the next few season with Seattle, before getting picked up by the Dodgers again. He spent time with the Padres and A’s in 2017 before returning to the Dodgers on 2 separate stints for 2018 and 2019. In this episode, Logan and I talk about his experience in the minors, getting moved team to team, dealing with having a family while playing and transitioning to life after playing.

On today’s episode, I’m joined by Elliot Surrey. Elliot played 4 years at The university of California Irvine, and ended up getting drafted by the Seattle Mariners in the 26th round of the 2016 draft. Despite having a good season his first year in Everett, Elliot was release in 2017 after having some elbow issues. Getting released was hard, but Elliot was able to go back to UCI, get his degree and find a new love being able to coach. Now Elliot is the Director of baseball ops at Cal State Northridge.

On part one of this two part episode, we have on special guest Andrew Moore of the Detroit Tigers. Andrew was drafted by the Seattle Mariners in the second round of the 2015 MLB draft, spent time with them until 2018 where he got traded to the Tampa Bay Rays. in 2019 he spent time with Tampa, San Fransisco and back to Seattle. Andrew had signed to play with the Cincinnati Reds for the 2020 season but never reported due to the shutdown. Recently, Andrew signed to play with the Tigers for the 2021 season. Andrew Joins us for part on to talk about his experience being a stand out at Oregon state, being one of Drivelines first athletes, transitioning from starter to bullpen while in the majors and much more. stay tuned for part two with Andrew where we dive into getting traded, training during a pandemic, his training routines and tips to younger pitchers.

On this episode of Mound Talk Podcast, we are joined by former DBU baseball standout Brandon Koch. Brandon had an amazing sophomore and junior year at Dallas Baptist and found him self drafted by the Tampa Bay Rays in the fourth round of the 2015 MLB draft. After dealing with on and off shoulder and elbow injuries, the Rays released Koch in 2018. Shortly after he was signed by the Minnesota Twins and invited to big league spring training. Koch's time with the Twins was cut short due to Covid, He looks forward to finding an opportunity for the 2021 season.
