In this episode of Mountain Echo, we hear from Chelsea Meece, the Director of the Ouray County Support and Advocacy Project (OCSAP) and Tabitha Champlin, the Ouray County Law Enforcement Victim Advocate.
OCSAP is promoting “Survivor September” – which is their campaign created to bring awareness to this newly formed organization and the services they provide to our community members who are survivors of sexual assault or intimate partner violence.
Chelsea and Tabitha also share what the differences are between “systems-based” and “community-based” support models, and the ways they work together to support survivors in our county.
Listen in to learn more about events OCSAP is hosting this month, such as their Teen Night Out on Saturday, September 21 at the Decker Room from 5pm-9pm, as well as their Homecoming event on October 12. Show your support for survivors in our community! Reach out to OCSAP if you want to volunteer or would like to sponsor an upcoming community event.
