Mountain Monsters boldly asserts that not only are cryptids real, they proliferate within a 2-hour radius of Appalachia.

It’s a simple formula: Each week Trapper, Jeff, Huckleberry, and Buck meet with a West Virginia local who has had a cryptozoological experience. They make a plan. Willy & Wild Bill build a trap. Nothing happens. They declare the cryptid scared away. Rinse and repeat. A monster-of-the-week so repetitive that our producer dared to ask our extra special guest “did you even watch the show?”

And yet.

We loved every second of it.
