This Fall we are doing a church-wide study of this important book by one of the most influential Christian thinkers and writers of our time, Dallas Willard. He was the Chair of the Philosophy Department at the University of Southern California, so a world-class philosopher, a faithful church leader, and a careful student of God's Word and the ways of the world. Life Without Lack is a 10-week study of the 23rd Psalm, so while it is familiar territory to most of us, we get to enjoy Dr. Willard's unique angle of approach and find encouragement to live our lives with abundance as we trust in our Sovereign God for everything. Interestingly, this book is published posthumously out of notes he used to teach this topic at his home church several times, put in book form by his pastor of many years.
Wouldn't it be wonderful to have no doubt in your heart or mind about what influence you are able to have in the world and what difference it would make to not worry at all? Jesus said, "What can you add to your life by worrying?" and Paul said, "Be anxious for nothing." Our very nature finds it hard to trust and surrender to God, and even though we love Him and know He is 100% trustworthy, we still don’t.
Our Pastors believe this study will open new opportunities for us to understand what it means to fully trust Jesus and what we can accomplish for Him when we do.
A limited number of books will be available on September 13th for $15, or you can save time by ordering it for yourself.

For many years, Kent McDonald has been a beloved friend and long-time ministry partner of Mountain Park Church. Kent is MPC’s longest-standing missionary partner, and we are grateful for the many years we have shared in ministry and supported his work with Young Life.
As Kent prepares to retire from Young Life, we want to take the opportunity to celebrate him, honor his years of faithful service, and give thanks for our long-standing relationship.
This Sunday, Kent will be speaking at 9:30 AM in the Fireside Room and will also be preaching during our 11:00 AM Sunday Gathering.
Come hear from Kent, celebrate this next chapter with him, and help us honor a friend who has been an important part of the MPC family for many years.
Join us this Sunday as we celebrate Kent and give thanks for his faithful ministry!
