Right now, Lula really needs a friend, not an enemy.

As if starting a new job and mourning her grandma’s death isn’t stressful enough, the Bar C Ranch Cook seems to have it out for Lula. Juan criticizes her work, accuses her of stealing, and calls her names in Spanish- which he knows she doesn’t understand despite their shared Mexican heritage.

Lula and Juan struggle to find common ground on the ranch. Meanwhile, Lula struggles with loneliness and depression as she grieves her grandmother.
