Acts 8:1-24

This message deals with two main areas - you personally; and witnessing.

Personally, it is possible, like Saul, to be passionate about things we will one day regret. Could there be things in your life that you are passionate about but passionately wrong?

In the area of witnessing, we have to make sure that those who believe in Jesus and are excited and get baptized are also baptized with the Holy Spirit. Baptism and excitement about Jesus aren't enough to be truly saved.

Acts 6:8-14

Stephen was an average guy with an above average passion for God's grace and Gospel. In fact, he was know to be filled with these to such an extent that his life-works became a sign and wonder to the people around him. Are you a sign and wonder to the people around you? If not, what do you need to learn from Stephen in order to be one.

Acts 6:1-7

The Apostles let nothing get in the way of the ministry of God's Word in the early church. Even important issues, like caring for widows, couldn't sway them from their God given task of preaching and teaching inspired by much prayer. What does that mean for our churches today? How can this apply to my own household?
