  • MZD - Ep 7 The Mountains Are Calling

There is something so invigorating, soul-awakening, renewing, restoring, refreshing and healing about being in the mountains for us. It truly is like being home.

For time out of mind the mountains have provided a place of restoration and renewal. Refreshment and retreat. Relaxation and reflection.

The prefix "Re-" generally means to do again. And again and again, like a second chance.

Join us as we take a few minutes to enjoy a re-visit to the mountains today and just take in their restorative power for re-energization and renewal.

    So glad you're here!

  • MZD -Ep 6 The Art of Slowing Down

"I went to the woods because I wished to live deliberately,

to front only the essential facts of life, and see if I could not learn what it had to teach,

and not, when I came to die, discover I had not lived."

~ Henry David Thoreau ~ Walden

The Art of Slowing Down means being present... for yourself and for the ones you love.  It means living deliberately.  It means accomplishing more by doing less.

We invite you to slow down just long enough to join us for today's show to learn how this works.

    Glad to have you here!

  • MZD - Ep 5 The Power of Persistence

Nature offers us so many lessons and examples of the power of persistence.

    • The sun rises every morning and sets every evening, and as it does it’s work plants and grasses, trees and flowers are nurtured by its warmth and radiance.

    • Animals gather food for the winter

    • Rivers cut through rock, boulders and mountainsides over eons forming canyons
How can water carve out a rock?  How does a river form a canyon?

The truth reveals itself like a friend who has always been there.

By never giving up. By continuous joyful persistence and perseverance.

Through untiring, unwavering regularity - doing the same thing day by day an awes-inspiring, joy-imparting ravine connects unfathomable height with valley and lowland.  Heaven with earth.  You with your Creator.

  • MZD - Ep 4 Finding Your Focus

There is a truism that says, "Whatever you focus on you get more of".

The logical thing for us to do now is to ask ourselves the question – “What is it that I want more of?”

Whatever your dream, the most important thing is that you get clear on what it is you want to do, have or be.

To get clear, you’ve got to tune in ~ focus.

We'll spend a few minutes here today doing just that by asking the question – “How can I better focus on the things I want and not the things that I don’t want or that are driving me crazy right now?”

    Glad you're here!

  • MZD - Ep 3 Be the Mountain

Throughout the ages Mountains have represented so many things ~ strength, majesty, endurance, tranquility, greatness, and power,…

They have always been a symbol of shelter and permanence - something you can count on to always be there.

They rise above the plains, the dull, the ordinary, the everyday and speak to us of greatness, hope and possibility. They awaken the senses and renew our vision. The mountains have always been a place where people seek spiritual guidance… The ten commandments were given to Moses on the mountain. We talk of climbing mountains for better vision and seek gurus at the top of them. We retreat to them for rest and relaxation. We look to them for meaning and purpose and shelter.

Today's show features an awesome meditation ~ one of my favorites ~ leading to that nature place that takes us to a higher level of being.

  • MZD - Ep. 2 Developing a Nature Awareness

All the great creative thinkers, artists, poets and naturalists throughout the ages were deeply connected to the Source of wisdom – the calm and depth, balance and purpose that comes from time spent in Nature and observing her secrets.

Men like Plato, Socrates, Galileo, Da Vinci, Henry David Thoreau, Ralph Waldo Emerson, Walt Whitman and John Muir all found their inspiration and genius in the insights found in the wild and natural world. More recently Teddy Roosevelt, Einstein, and even John Denver …

This wasn’t by accident.  They were aware and purposeful in learning from their natural environment. You and I can do the same today. Great and noble thoughts and ideas, powerful emotions, passions and ideals can be sparked by the great truths and beauty found only in Mother Nature.

This is the goal and purpose of the daily show here at Mountain Zen Den. We are going to put ourselves in the path of Nature and learn and absorb what treasures she offers.

Sound idealistic? Maybe. But stick around and see if you don’t agree – there are amazing benefits of just spending of few minutes a day, purposefully immersing yourself in the magnificent concepts and blessings that can be found only in the great outdoors and natural world all around us.
