Leaders can feel overwhelmed trying to guide people through uncertainty, but by starting the day meeting with God's presence on a metaphorical or literal mountainside, we can draw fresh vision, insight and strength for the path ahead.
Summary
Mornings and mountains hold a special place for me spiritually. I totally identify with Moses climbing up Mount Sinai before daylight to connect with God. There's just something about the stillness, making that physical effort upwards, and watching the sunrise from an inspiring peak that fills me with conviction and possibility.
I mean how awesome would it have been to witness God descending in the cloud to meet Moses! We tap into incredible power starting our day creating space to attune our senses through things like hiking, sunrise beach walks, worship music - anything lowering the everyday noise to whisper "Here I am God."
And I don't know about you, but uncertainties absolutely stress me out as a leader. Whether at home, at church or work, I want to guide well but it gets lonely. But Moses shows us we aren't meant to carry every burden alone. As we ascend mountains seeking God's heart, He'll descend with guidance, energy and fresh vision for the terrain ahead. No need to fear what I cannot see - the divine Hand leads me one step at a time.
So I encourage you my friend to discover your own sacred spaces! Mountain highs, morning coffees or wherever your heart whispers. Meet God there to realign your day. You might be surprised what inspiration fills you when you intentionally invite His presence! There's wonder to uncover if you dare to draw near.
