Humility is the virtue of being obedient
Humility is doing the best for all the parties
Humility is modesty and genuine acceptance one’s inability
The paradox of life is that everyone thinks they are humble, even the evidently proud.
Humility is not the following:
Ø Humility is not God’s responsibility
Ø It is not blind obedience.
Ø Humility is not synonymous with calm demeanor or personality. You may be naturally cool or gentle but not necessarily humble.
Jesus Crist is the ultimate definition of humility.
What did Jesus do?
we can simply observe the life and the ministry of Jesus and be guided on how to successfully live with this important virtue
1. Left the comfort because the father requested.
2. He put on a vulnerable flesh just to do what is good for all.
3. He listened all through following the instructions to the letter.
The story of the man who took 3 pieces of advice.
Are you humble or proud?
a. Are you always right? Do you justify your wrongs, imposing the fault on others?
b. Can you be advised?
c. Can you listen to a true voice of God when it comes through others?
d. Are you always adamant and cannot give up patterns will clearly destroy you?
e. Do you use excuses, manipulation to dodge correction?
Biblical consequences of lack of humility
ü You will be resisted by God
ü You will be demoted.
ü Your heart becomes a residence for evil and perilous desires.
ü You become an altar for discouragement.
What must we do? What’s the recipe for humility?
1. Search your heart.
2. Resolve the unresolved. Seek to check what you did wrong because you can only change yourself, the rest is up to others.
3. Accept responsibility. Listen more than you talk.
