This Sunday, guest speaker Derek Miedema delivered a sermon titled “If You’ve Seen Jesus, You’ve Seen the Father” based on John 14:8–11.

This message focuses on the reality of the resurrection and what it means for us personally. The empty tomb is not just an event to believe in, but the declaration that sin has been paid for and death has been defeated. Because we are united with Christ, His resurrection becomes our life. The central question is: Can we trust God when we cannot see clearly? Easter answers that question by showing us that God is already ahead of us, and that our lives are moving toward life, not loss.

The cross stands at the center of all history, where Jesus Christ willingly gave His life as a substitute, bearing our sin so that we might be forgiven and made right with God. Through His sacrifice, the barrier between God and humanity is removed, justice is fully satisfied, and access to God is now freely given, not earned. In response, we remember, receive, and proclaim this grace, trusting in Christ alone, who paid the full price so that we might have life.

This Sunday, guest speaker Kevin Hogan shared a message on what it truly means to know God—not just know about Him, but to experience a personal, relational connection through Jesus Christ. Kevin helped us see how the Bible, the Holy Spirit, prayer, a life of trusting God, and the church all guide us in growing closer to Him.

Today’s guest speaker, Ahren Summach, spoke about the realities of the Christian faith as Jesus expressed them in the later portion of the Sermon on the Mount. Using Matthew 7:13–27 as his foundation, Ahren examined the essential truths that every Christian—whether a layperson or a shepherd—must be aware of and live by.
