Move Over George Jetson as the Consumer Electronic Show 2023 Introduces the Aska A5. The “flying car” that is an electric VTOL | #523

Listen Later

BJ Killeen – automotive journalist and voice of reason welcomes the new year with Alan as they discuss the future of the automobile industry. They will both attend the CES in Las Vegas, the Consumer Electronic Show. Alan shared how Tesla has encountered a hiccup in their electric vehicles. The weather. The colder it is outside, the harder it is to charge. Manufacturers who claimed to be all-electric by a certain year may be changing that statement as time will show more faults in all-electric vehicles. Move over Jetson, here comes ASKA A5, the world’s first ‘flying car”. It will make its debut this year at CES, along with tons more new technology that will help improve life in general. From artificial intelligence that will allow you to pay for everything while you sit in the comfort of your vehicle on a see-thru tv screen mounted on your window. Alan shares how there is already a sensor that can monitor your blood pressure as you are driving to ensure you are up to par to be behind the wheel. Ed Justice Jr. –  Justice Brothers, Inc. President and CEO is up next with Alan as they continue on the subject of the life span of electric vehicles. Both gentlemen believe that internal combustion and hydrogen is the future. However, for now “hybrids” seem to be making less of a carbon foot print and Toyota seems to be in the lead when it comes to that. Mike Mansuetti – President of Bosch, North America is in the hot seat next as they discuss sensor technology and artificial intelligence. He introduces a new piece of technology called the, ride care companion, a new product to help like an Uber driver, to ride along with you.  Driver or occupant can feel more safe and secure. When asked the future of Bosch, Mike said they are wanting to create sustainable technology that will benefit man kind. To help consumers and customers move forward into the future. Paul Mitchell –  Chairman and President of Indy Autonomous Challenge makes a quick pit stop to share with Alan about what he’s bringing to CES. Ten teams, nine cars, all driving with artificial intelligence at speeds higher than 170 mph. It is only open to those attending CES. Paul understand that there will always be human drivers, however as technology advances so will the future of driving. Rick Kowalski – Director, Industry Analysis and Business Intelligence at Consumer Technology Association is up next. He has been with CES for over 16 years. This year they are expecting over 100.000 attendees and over 3200 companies to showcase their newest technology. Alan shares that he is a bit nervous about allowing artificial intelligence to be so incorporated in your everyday living. Rick explains that as scary as it seems, artificial intelligence can do things and see things that most humans are incapable of, especially in the medical field. Evolution in this industry continues to expand with improved experience. Alan closes the show today with BJ Killeen. What can you say about CES?  There is no place to be an enthusiast anymore.  Everything is turning to autonomous.  Artificial intelligence is slowly taking the place of humans in the front seat behind the wheel. Robots are taking over and Big Brother is here.  However they both believe SEMA will preserve the car hobby.
