We are made to worship and if our worship isn't intentionally directed at God throughout our days there are tons of things that can take His place. Fitness is one of those things that can easily become a "religion" in our lives - I know this from personal experience! If our energy, time, attention, and thought space is constantly being directed toward our physical being, there is a good chance that fitness is starting to compete with our faith in God. Our physical body and fitness level can become a god of sorts; something we begin to worship without even realizing it.

In today's episode, I share 4 questions to ask yourself to identify if fitness is becoming a religion to you. I pray that this episode is encouraging and directs you back to God!

I officially entered a new decade this past week, so I'm reflecting with some advice for my 20-year-old self! I dive into 20 specific pieces of advice, in the categories of faith, family/friends, fitness, and food. My 20-year-old self would be shocked at what my life looks like today, and that is all testament to the saving grace of Jesus Christ! One of the most popular times to pop in some headphones and jam out to music is while working out, but what's coming out of those headphones, and how is it affecting your heart? Modesty... the age old Christian topic that many of us don't want to touch because there a lot of ways to interpret what modesty is and is not. In this episode, I share my own personal journey with some recent convictions about modesty that the Lord has placed on my heart. Through the many things He has changed my mind on, I've come to realize that much of the journey of sanctification is simply keeping our hearts open to hear from God and to be willing to be obedient in what He asks of us.

If you had asked me a decade ago what I thought my life would look like now... I would have imagined myself living in a bustling city, strutting down the sidewalk to my "important" job in perfectly paired heels and pencil skirt, definitely not married, and DEFINITELY not with a child at home. 

I feel incredibly blessed to be celebrating my first Mother's Day this year (Happy Mother's Day to you too!), but I didn't always plan or desire for my life to look like this. In this episode I share my personal journey from pursuing the "boss babe" life and idolizing career over everything, to accepting Jesus as my Savior, and gaining a new appreciation for marriage and family. I discuss the way God has been working in me to shift toward a God-centered life over a self-centered life and how I am continuing to grow and learn, now as a mother to a sweet baby girl.

We all need regular reminders that we are perfectly made in God's image. In today's world, it is so easy to get wrapped up in finding your worth in your appearance. In this episode, I share my personal journey with idolizing my appearance and releasing that as I grew with God through my 20s; from the bondage of an eating disorder to then idolizing my ability to perform, and finally stepping into the freedom of simply taking care of my body so that I can steward it for God's kingdom. I am by no means perfect at this, so I share 3 specific tactics I use when the devil's words start to creep into my mind.
