Even though neither of us grew up in the early '60s, this movie makes you feel like you did—riding bikes until sunset, getting into just enough trouble, and playing baseball all summer long. We talk about why this film hits such a universal emotional chord, from the iconic one-liners to that giant mythical dog behind the fence.

We also dive into what it’s like watching The Sandlot through modern eyes—what holds up, what doesn't, and why this movie still feels like summer vacation in its purest form.

For our second episode, we’re diving into the Michael Crichton sci-fi thriller Runaway (1984), starring Tom Selleck, Cynthia Rhodes, Kirstie Alley, and a very villainous Gene Simmons (yes, that Gene Simmons). Written and directed by Crichton himself, this movie is a time capsule of 80s futurism—killer spider robots, floppy disks, and all.

We break down the over-the-top 80s-ness of this movie: the music, the wardrobe, the bizarrely slow robots. But we also dig into the big question: Does the tech in Runaway hold up in 2024? Could Crichton see the future, or was this just neon-soaked nonsense?
