Movie Chumps

Showgirls. Battlefield Earth. The Perils of Gwendoline and the Land of Yik Yak. Those are just a few of the schlock-fests Luke and Corrye rip apart. But they're not all B-movies. Expect some big Oscar winners. We also salute the late film critic Jack Garner.

While Luke struggles to make sense of some of the X-Men/Wolverine backstory, Corrye is at his most eloquent, highlighting why this "superhero film" is a beautiful drama that earns it's place in the pantheon of comic book movies. Plus, Luke makes Corrye struggle through his "5 Questions" choices.

A murder mystery to rival Clue and all those Agatha Christie classics. Rian Johnson hits a whopper of a home run, and Corrye & Luke praise his screenplay and direction to high heaven. The duo also examines the intricate plot, the film's nod to Twitter culture, and salutes the throw-up plot device.

Christopher Reeve, Michael Keaton, Tim Burton, and Richard Donner set the tone for the onslaught of superhero movies that would arrive in theaters decades later. Luke & Corrye pluck out the winners (Danny Elfman!) and losers (Marlon Brando) while analyzing these two modern classics.

Deliverance meets Platoon? Not exactly. Luke overhypes the 1981 bayou thrill ride with Powers Booth and famous "that guy" Brion James. Corrye agrees its memorable, but isn't so hot on the overall product.

Corrye said it best: it's not a movie about redemption. It's about healing. The boys reflect on Ben Affleck's powerful performance (and overacting); what the film does that other basketball films DIDN'T do; and point out the sports cliches the film avoided.

Charlie Sheen's death scene acting: horrific. But Jack Palance's was just as bad. Corrye and Luke dissect these Young Guns scenes, and trade wisecracks on everything from Tom Cruise's cameo to the suitcase escape by Emilio Estevez.

"I am...THE LAW!" Judge Dredd is a smorgasbord of Stallone-isms. The 2012 remake takes a dark detour from the original. Luke & Corrye delve into both films. They trade likes and dislikes, discuss the Catch 22 of Rob Schneider's performance, and explain their 1st big disagreement (it's over Lena Headey's character). Expect an explosive Christopher Walken impression, too!

Schwarzenegger's Conan the Barbarian isn't a cult classic. It's a classic, period. Luke and Corrye shower their appreciation on everything from Conan's mom, to the pulsating score, to the corniest death, as well as that silly witch scene. Oh yeah: we've got impressions, too.
