  • Ep. 11 Big Trouble In Little China

    *cue Star Wars Theme
    Chapter X:
The podcast, Movie Geek & Proud, have just been welcomed by the podcast community and family. As they settle in with their new podcaster brothern, a new episode was recorded. A review of Solo: A Star Wars Story. Through the franchise a civilization known as The Fanboys would carry out the fandom of Star Wars. Soon a group of movie goers emerged. Those who didn't believe in the hype and see these films as just some sci fi adventures like all others: The Non-believers. A summit meeting has commenced and two from The Fanboys and Non-believers have come together to review this film and give their thoughts on the origins of one of the beloved characters: Han Solo. After the review, a battle struck causing the factions to go head-head in choosing a team of Movie Sidekicks they deem worthy to join in on their quest.
Now it is up to the rest of the galaxy to put a cease to this battle once and for all and vote a winner so that there may be peace...

  • Ep. 7: Spice World
Spice up your life with another episode of Movie Geek & Proud. This week I am joined my biggest panel of 3 friends including my first female guest. We give our initial reactions to the trailers Skyscrapers and Bohemian Rhapsody in our Trailer Talk segment and also review Upgrade, Life of the Party, and Tully in our 3 mins or less segment. Then we will review another film in my collection to see if it holds up and if i would keep it or sell it. That film is Spice World starring the popular UK group the Spice Girls. There are a lot of laughs and ridiculousness in this episode as we talk the many funny lines, the huge list of cameos, and we all even have our own "Spice" names.
    Thanks as always for listening

  • Ep. 6: Strangers On A Train
Movie Geeks, it is time for me to review a movie I haven't seen before. I explore the world terror, suspense, and circumstance in the 1951 classic Strangers on a Train, directed by Alfred Hitchcock. I am not too familiar with his films so it was nice to be able to view this movie along with my friends Shawn and James. We discuss the film from the plot, to the characters, to the cinematography. Are black and white films still relevant? Who still talks to random strangers? Also, is it really necessary to remake this film? We answer all of this and more in this episode of Movie Geek & Proud. Enjoy the show.

Rom-Coms, you either hate them or love them. Shawn and I tackle the genre on the do's and don'ts of a good romantic comedy by reviewing Crazy Stupid Love from Rob's Collection. We also visit the trailer park to talk about the trailers to Crazy Rich Asians and Happy Time Murders. Under our 3 min or less reviews we review Deadpool 2 and Breaking In currently in theatres. in between all of this we play a game inspired by the genre and deal with the struggle that Ryan Reynolds is not in this movie.

  • Ep. 4: The Little Mermaid
This episode was a lot of fun to record. My friends Shawn, David, and I discuss, dissect, and debate the Disney classic The Little Mermaid. We determine if Ariel is a spoiled brat who doesn't love her rich life. Is King Triton a good Father? Did Carlotta and Grimsby have a love affair going on? Also, what was up with those sisters all living at home? We review this film to see if it still holds up after so many years and also in a new segment called "A Geek Can Dream" we give our picks as to who should be casts in the live-action version coming out in the future. If you join patron, you get 30 mins of extra facts, fun, and foolery more than what the public gets to listen to. Once again, thank you for listening and I hope you enjoy this review of The Little Mermaid.

  • Episode 3: Requiem For A Dream
In this week's episode, Shawn and I talk briefly about the Venom trailer. In our 3 min or less review, we discuss the British horror film Ghost Stories. Shawn takes us through his experience watching Labyrinth on the big screen. We answer the question of the week, what movies are so unsettling to watch twice? From Rob's Collection, we watch and discuss Requiem For A Dream. Shawn's first time watching and Rob's 4th or 5th time. Does this film still hold up and stay on the shelf? Enjoy Episode 3.

About Movie Geek & Proud: A Movie Podcast

From the publisher's feed

This show reviews movies good and bad, old and new, of all genres. Hosted by Rob, a movie geek who loves going to the movies. Most of the films reviewed will come from my unconventional personal collection as well as films you don't see get much attention or love with a motto: There are no such thing as a "guilty pleasure" film. Be Proud of your taste in movies. I want to prove my theory that every movie has at least one fan.
