The story of pulp hero Lamont Cranston who learns to "cloud men's minds," a form of mystical, psychic hypnosis that allows him to influence others' thoughts and bend their perceptions. With his new power he becomes The Shadow and hero from 1930s New York. But wouldn't you know it, last descendant of Genghis Khan wants to take over the world and it's up to The Shadow to stop him. We here at Movie Issues love a good Blaxploitation action film, and this week we watched one of the best ones in showing us a strong female kicking ass and taking names: Cleopatra Jones from 1973.  We follow Cleopatra Jones, who is a United States Special Agent assigned to crack down on drug-trafficking in the U.S. and abroad. After she burns a Turkish poppy field, the notorious drug-lord Mommy is furious at the loss of her supply and vows to destroy Cleopatra Jones. Then the shit gets real, and it's an all-out-war between these two ladies.
