We here at Movie Issues love Halloween and Horror Movies so much that we decided to do a special extra episode all about the "Universal Monsters!"

They are the beginnings of horror, and without them modern horror films would have never been the same. They paved the way we see monsters and creatures in pop culture. Back then they weren't just making horror, they were inventing it!

As the Movie Issues Halloween love enters its third week, we felt it was necessary to watch at least one of the Halloween movies. Unfortunately, we watched the 2002 film Halloween: Resurrection, the eighth and final installment in the Halloween franchise to use Jamie Lee Curtis. I think even she's had enough at this point. So sit back, relax, and hear us out as we watch Busta Rhymes along with Tyra Banks, who set up cameras in the Myers house to film a bunch over-sexed-kids look for clues of the Michael Myers legacy, only to have the real Michael Myers show up really pissed-off that they're in his house. I bet things get crazy then right?

Nope, not even close.

We choose 1979s Moonraker - yes, it's the one where Bond goes to space, proving that all long-running film franchises ultimately must embrace the void, Bond included.

Leland and Spooky are so excited about the new Dredd movie that they went back and watched the original to get in the zone!

Yes, we watched the 1995 Sylvester Stallone comic/action flick Judge Dredd. The character based on the 2000 AD comic book series and then re-imagined for Hollywood then given Rob Schneider as a funny sidekick.  Yeah, remember the "Makin' copies" guy?  He's here, along with the too classy for this movie Diane Lane and over the top Armand Assante.  Enjoy!

This week, the boys travel back to 1939 in days of old-time radio.

We watched 1994s Radioland Murders, a flop produced by a little-known fellow named George Lucas before he ended up working on this little movie called Star Wars you may have heard of in some circles. This ensemble murder mystery-comedy brings together a zany cast of characters trying to solve a murder before they all end up six feet under.

Also the boys discuss their favorite movie deaths, ones that stand the test of time.

Staring Andrew McCarthy as a an artist who falls in love with a store mannequin played by Kim Cattrall, who comes to life when only he's around. Which leads to comedy-zany-goodness. This movie is filled with every 80s stereotypes you can shake a stick at: Music montage, corporate espionage, bad pop music and lots, lots of neon. What more could you want?!
