Movie Lovers Unite

SPOILER WARNING: This review contains spoilers for Verity.

Anne Hathaway gets twisted in Verity, but does the movie deliver on its dark and disturbing premise?

I’m joined by comedian Josh Pray to break down Verity, including Anne Hathaway’s performance, Josh Hartnett, Dakota Johnson, the film’s atmosphere, the story’s twists, what worked for us, what didn’t, and whether the movie ultimately delivers.

We also get into our overall thoughts, our biggest issues with the film, and where Verity succeeds—and falls short.

What did you think of Verity? Do you agree with our takes?

Resident Evil has officially crossed $100 million at the domestic box office, but that’s not the only movie news John is breaking down on this episode of Movie Lovers Unite.

John goes solo to talk about the latest weekend box office numbers, Resident Evil’s continued success, reports that Spider-Man: Brand New Day could return to theaters with additional footage, Melissa Barrera discussing the circumstances under which she would consider returning to the Scream franchise, and Sylvester Stallone wanting another shot at Rocky V with a new recut.

Plus, John shares his thoughts on what these stories could mean for each franchise and asks what movie fans want to see happen next.

What do you think? Would you watch another Resident Evil movie? Would you pay to see Spider-Man: Brand New Day again for additional footage? And would you watch Stallone’s recut of Rocky V?

Clock in with John and Beck as we revisit the 1980 workplace comedy 9 to 5, starring Jane Fonda, Lily Tomlin, and Dolly Parton.

I’m joined by Beck as we look back at the movie’s comedy, its unforgettable characters, the workplace frustrations at the heart of the story, and why so much of what 9 to 5 was talking about still feels surprisingly relevant today.

We also get into our favorite moments, what has aged well, what feels different watching it today, and whether this comedy still hits more than 45 years later.
