Almost no one has heard of this movie. Outside of Japan most people don't even know the incredible story of Yukio Mishima, the most famous Japanese author of his day, and his stranger-than-fiction life. Mishima is a biopic that makes several bold choices in its staging of its subject's life. Mixing color and black and white, truth and fiction, glory and humiliation--Mishima is the powerful legacy of a deeply sensitive, deeply broken artist. You probably haven't seen this movie; you should really check it out.

They'll answer all of those questions, plus create a Mount Rushmore dedicated to real actors playing fictional actors, like Fright Night star Roddy McDowall! But what if it is one of the best movies ever made? What, in fact, if it is one of the greatest, most affecting pieces of art of all time? Then you have to imagine it would have a chance. And, friends, I am here to tell you that this is one of the greatest movies ever made. If you haven't seen this movie, gird up your loins and prepare to be changed forever.
