Movieguide®, the number one family review service for movies and television shows, has officially announced the nominees for its 31st Annual MOVIEGUIDE® Faith & Values Awards Gala & Report to the Entertainment Industry. The Awards Gala will take place on Friday, February 9th at the iconic Avalon Theatre in Hollywood and will broadcast on Great American Family later this spring.

2019 was full of incredible movies that families will enjoy for years to come! Here are just a few that were honored at the 28th Annual Movieguide® Awards!

MASTERS OF THE AIR is a patriotic miniseries on Apple TV+ about the 100th Bomber Group of the U.S. Army’s 8th Air Force during World War II in Europe. The first two episodes focus on the first two missions that the two leading squadron commanders, Gale Cleven and John Egan, and their men face together. In the first mission, the Bombing Group and two other groups must fly back without hitting their target because the German resistance was too strong. As a result, three planes and 30 men are lost. Then, when the second mission, a bombing run to Norway, hits a navigation snag, will the Bombing Group find its way home?

PERCY JACKSON AND THE OLYMPIANS is a live action fantasy adventure series on Disney Plus. After losing his mother to a minotaur, 12-year-old Percy Jackson is thrust into a world where Greek mythology is a reality. Percy is bullied by his peers but strives to prove his worth. He takes on a dangerous quest to retrieve Zeus’ stolen lightning bolt before war breaks out between the Olympian gods. Can Percy save the world in time?

In Episode Five, Season Two of REACHER on Amazon Prime, Reacher and the surviving members of his former Army unit find out the reason their three friends were killed. It’s all part of a terrorist plot to sell 650 state-of-the-art anti-aircraft missiles that can shoot commercial planes out of the air. The team discovers the mysterious arms dealer’s henchmen have hijacked the missiles. Their plans to stop the transfer of the weapons to the highest bidder are put on hold briefly while they attend the Christian, military funeral of their third murdered friend.

LOVE ON RETREAT is a romantic comedy on UPtv. As the movie opens, Jenny Lee works very hard as her demanding boss, Gwen Martin’s, personal assistant and social media manager. Gwen orders Jenny to work with her adventure-seeking brother, Nate, to develop activities for the company’s annual retreat in Clearwater, Florida. Also, Jenny pleads with Gwen to consider her to lead the company’s social media team. Jenny’s competition for the new job is Gwen’s longtime friend, Brooke. What Jenny doesn’t know is that Brooke was once engaged to Nate, but Nate and Jenny start to fall for each other.

Season 3 of VINDICATION is an engrossing, brilliantly written police drama streaming on Redeem TV and Great American Pure Flix. A new murder case confronts the program’s hero, Detective Gary Travis, who became a Christian in Season 1 and 2. This time, however, a member of Gary’s own household becomes a suspect. Also, he’s arrested himself, and his protégé in the police department, Kris, goes missing. Meanwhile, the only other honest detective working the case, Tre Millwood, must keep his cards close to his bullet-proof vest, because he can’t trust his boss or his fellow officers.

BLIPPI’S BIG DINO ADVENTURE is a fantasy adventure movie on Netflix based on the popular TV programs for young children. Blippi is an adult with a childlike curiosity and lively personality who teaches young children about things like American Sign Language, cooking, crafting, science, math, and more. Blippi wears a blue and orange cap and sneakers. orange glasses, blue shirt, orange suspenders, and an orange bow tie. In BLIPPI’S BIG DINO ADVENTURE, Blippi and his friend, Meekah, travel to a park where one can explore, hike, climb, learn, and observe live dinosaurs. They run into their friend, Asher, who gives them a mission to help him find some lost dinosaur eggs.

THE LOVE ADVISOR is a romantic comedy on UPtv. Abby is a gifted writer with a good understanding of true love. However, her boss, Serena, is a phony, attention-seeking, hack. Abby writes and produces for their popular podcast on love and relationships, but Serena takes all the credit. Jack is a handsome journalist from New York City, who’s assigned to write a story about the successful podcast. He intends to interview Serena, but Serena’s spa facial goes wrong. So, she sends Abby to cover for her until they can reschedule. Jack ends up spending time with Abby, and romance blossoms. Serena promises to give Abby her due credit if they win a prestigious podcast award. Will Serena follow through on her promise?

MY ADVENTURES WITH SUPERMAN: Season One is streaming on the Warner Bros. Max platform. It’s a fun, campy reimagining of the early career of the world’s most famous superhero character. The series is set in Clark Kent’s early twenties as he starts a new internship at The Daily Planet. The program follows his struggles to keep his job, develop a relationship with Lois Lane, and learn how to use his superpowers. As he explores his abilities and responsibilities as a costumed hero, Clark learns more about where he was born and faces the existential questions of who he is and who he ought to be.
