THE NOT-TOO-LATE SHOW WITH ELMO is an HBO Max original series that’s a spinoff from SESAME STREET. It features the Muppet character, Elmo, as a late-night talk show host. During 15-minute segments, original SESAME STREET characters and celebrity guests participate in games, activities and musical performances. The series has many heartwarming, redemptive elements. The love between family and friends is celebrat-ed. In one episode, Cookie Monster’s mother visits her son on set and receives a warm welcome from everyone. Leading by example, Elmo also teaches children about respecting your elders and obeying your parents.

UNCLE TOM is a documentary with interviews of African American conservatives from all walks of life. The movie opens with several conservatives discussing how people on the left call them an “Uncle Tom,” bootlicker, “House N*gro,” or other pejorative terms. Among other issues, the movie discusses the leftist campaign to smear conservative black leaders, the creation of the “race grievance industry” by liberals, the racist history of the Democrat Party, the negative impact of the welfare state on black communities and the black family, and the divisive nature of President Barack Obama’s racial policies.

REPENTANCE is a 1984 Russian movie made in the Georgian province of the old Soviet Union. In the story, the mayor of a small Georgian town dies and is buried. A day later, his corpse turns up and is secretly reburied. The corpse keeps returning. Eventually, the police capture a local woman. They accuse her of digging up the body. She says the mayor should not be buried, because his reign of terror led to the disappearance of many friends. She says the town must repent of the former mayor and his policies, not bury him.

The 1935 classic A TALE OF TWO CITIES is a brilliant version of the Charles Dickens novel. In the story, Sydney Carton, an alcoholic British lawyer in 1780 falls for Lucie Manette, whose father spent 18 years in prison for helping peasants abused by a wealthy French family, led by an evil Marquis. Lucie is being courted by Charles Darnay, who has denounced his uncle, the Marquis, and renounced the family name. Lucie marries Charles after Sydney saves Charles from being convicted of treason in England. When the French Revolution breaks out, the leftist revolutionaries trick Charles into visiting Paris to wipe out his whole family.

THE OLD GUARD follows a group of independent soldiers who can self-heal from any injury, which makes them significantly older than they appear. For obvious reasons, the soldiers try to stay under the radar while they travel the world helping other people. After a setup, the group learns that many people are hot on their trail, looking to exploit their abilities for personal gain. Andy (short for Andromeda) is the group’s ringleader. She tries to protect her team at all costs, but will her old age and the conflict take its toll?

In RELIC, an elderly woman, named Edna goes missing which concerns her daughter, Kay, and granddaughter, Sam, who come looking for her. The movie is set in Australia during an overcast season that mirrors the gravity of Edna’s situation. According to Edna’s daughter, Kay, Edna is getting forgetful in her old age. When Edna suddenly shows up at her house, Kay and Sam hunker down to get to the bottom of what’s really happening with Edna.

GREYHOUND is a war movie starring Tom Hanks as Ernest Krause, the first-time American captain of a lead battleship destroyer protecting a convoy of merchant ships and troop ships heading for England in February 1942 during World War II. For 50 hours, in the middle of the Atlantic Ocean, the convoy is without an air escort until it gets closer to England. As soon as the air cover stops, the convoy faces a “wolf pack” of seven German submarines. The German subs repeatedly attack.

HAMILTON follows a chronological narrative of the life and eventual death of Alexander Hamilton from previous recording of the Broadway show in 2016. Alexander Hamilton’s parents weren’t married upon his birth, and he became an orphan before immigrating to the US. Hamilton rose to political power with his zeal for new government policies. Hamilton starts his political career with humble means and eventually marries and helps found the Federalist Party and the National Treasury. All the while, he has a love/hate relationship with Aaron Burr, Thomas Jefferson’s first Vice President.

LOVE IN HARMONY VALLEY follows Will and Emma as they try to convince the people of Harmony Valley to approve a plan to reopen the town’s closed winery and bring new jobs and revenue to the people. Just when it looks like the plan is going to get approved, Emma’s grandmother, Rose, intercedes and could cause the whole thing to crash. Meanwhile, Will and Emma begin to develop feelings for one another while working together.

MR. JONES is a masterful historical drama about Gareth Jones, a British journalist in 1933 who travels to Moscow to interview murderous communist dictator Joseph Stalin. Jones wants to ask Stalin where he’s getting the money to build up the Soviet Union’s military and industrial strength. Jones travels to Ukraine and discovers that Stalin’s tyrannical rule has created a famine there. He exposes the truth back in London, but Walter Duranty, the notorious New York Times writer bribed by Stalin to make Stalin’s regime look good, successfully but falsely discredits Jones. Can Jones reclaim his reputation?
