That right we're already in the first week of Summer. There's no doubt that we could have predicted that our summer 2020 was to be different from any other summer that we could have dreamed it would be. Many things feel uncertain right now, but even in these strange times. We'll have to wave goodbye to exotic trips and weekend getaways—but who said we couldn't that in your own home? Watching summer movies might just be the best way to briefly escape reality and relax (while staying safe at home, to boot!). Our Friends Jesús and Randi Walle join us this week as we break down some of our favorite summer movies that we love to watch or remind us of summer.

It seems like every successful movie these days seems to get a sequel. It’s hard to capture lightning in a bottle twice, so some sequels lean so heavily on the concept of the first film that it feels lazy, while others reinvent the wheel a little too vigorously, resulting in a sequel that loses its connection to what made the first movie so famous. That’s what makes crafting a sequel so tricky, and only in sporadic cases are sequels better than their predecessors. Yet, some of the greatest films ever made are sequels: Movies like The Dark Knight, The Godfather Part II, Toy Story 3, The Empire Strikes Back and Terminator 2: Judgment Day.
