  • The Redemptive Purposes of God's Providence | Ruth 4
The sermon explores the theme of God's providence through the book of Ruth, illustrating how divine redemptive purposes unfold even in bitter or confusing circumstances. Using Romans 8:28 as a central anchor, the preacher argues that believers are participants in God's larger story rather than the authors of their own lives. The message highlights four key purposes of trials: growing trust in God's love, displaying His glory through human weakness, maturing character through dependence, and ultimately showcasing God's glory for the good of His people. By comparing life to a movie with an underlying theme song, the text encourages listeners to find peace and significance in trusting God's sovereign plan despite not seeing the full picture.

  • One Story, One Savior
Have you ever walked into a movie fifteen minutes late and spent two hours trying to piece the story together? For many of us, that is exactly how we read the Bible: a comfort here, a moral there, and sixty-six books that never quite assemble into one story. On the road to Emmaus, the risen Christ showed two confused disciples that the Scriptures, beginning with Moses and all the Prophets, had been telling one story about Him all along. In this message from Luke 24, we walk the whole Bible in four acts, discover why David and Goliath was never mainly about your courage, and meet the Champion at the center of it all.

  • You Are Incredible Part 1
INTRO: The title of this message is, "You Are Incredible!" Does this sound like a message I would do? Well, I am not trying to puff anyone up. I hope what it will do is humble us all. Psalm 8 was read for us earlier. I am taking this message verses 3-4: 3 When I consider Your heavens, the work of Your fingers, The moon and the stars, which You have ordained, 4 What is man that You are mindful of him, And the son of man that You visit him? I plan on doing two messages, one from verse 3 and the other from verse 4. I find outer space fascinating. Today man is traveling to the moon and back. In 1969, man first stepped on the moon. I know that is questioned, but I believe it is true. According to NASSA, 12 men have walked on the moon. Then, in 1997 NASA sent the first rover, the Sojourner to mars. It sent back 550 pictures. In 2004, the Spirit and the Opportunity were both sent to mars in the same month. In 2012 the Curiosity was sent and last, the Perseverance was sent in 2021. You can watch movies being taken on mars as the rovers travel around looking for Martians and water. You won't see any. What you will see is a grassless, treeless, lifeless planet; like the moon. What man is seeking is life on other planets, and if not life, then water. Elon Musk has a great interest in space travel as well. He acknowledges there must be a Creator. He has no idea who that might be or whether there are more than one. And he thinks that maybe whoever those gods are or that God is, they or He is running a simulation to see what will happen.

  • Is Fantasy Literature Escapism?
Why has fantasy gone from a niche genre to nearly every blockbuster movie in theaters? Is this a coincednece, or an escape ramp from the reality of God, sin, and judgment? Kevin is joined by Danny Craig to trace that escapism straight into the young adult section of the local library. They test Gandalf, Radagast, and Madeleine L'Engle's witches against Scripture's standard for the true source of power, then offer six criteria for choosing books that point kids back to God instead of away from Him.
