The only true blue popcorn film on the list. A surprise that it's nominated for Best Picture but after watching you see why. A fun and thrilling film from beginning to end.

Loosely based or more accurately inspired by the real Mary Reisman, Marty Supreme is another excellent film by Josh Safdie. He's capable of getting just about any performance he needs from just about anyone.

The story of William Shakespeare and his wife Agnes after the loss of their son due to the black plague. Another extremely well made movie. I expect Jesse Buckley to walk away with the little golden man.

Deeply depressing and sad film. Tells the story of logger through his life and all the happiness (not much) sadness, trauma and heartache along the way. Scott cried, Joey didn't.

A remake of the 2003 South Korean film Save The Green Planet! Lots to praise here but will it win best picture or any other nominations? Realistically not.

Sinners broke the record of 14 oscar nominations with 16 this year. Joey doesn't feel it's best picture material even though he enjoyed it quite a bit. Scott feels it is. We both agree it's great though.

Guillermo del Toro's adaptation of Mary Shelly's Frankenstein is as beautiful as it is a masterpiece. There isn't much wrong with this film but will it win Best Picture? We don't think so. If Guillermo hadn't won already for Shape Of Water it might have.

Brian Yuzna’s 80’s horror classic wasn’t released in America for nearly 3 years. I can see why people were afraid to show a film like this as it’s one of the best body horror movies to come out in that time period. While it isn’t perfect, you should still check it out.
