In this episode of Moving Into the Future with Jack Macejka of The Advance Group, New York’s largest office moving company, we discuss companies fleeing big cities due to high taxes, expensive housing, and governmental regulations. One state that has gained ground as a major tech and business hub is Texas. With its partnership with the Office Moving Alliance (OMA), The Advance Group has been assisting companies make seamless transitions to a new state. For example, Tesla is building a large factory near Austin, and CEO, Elon Musk, announced in late 2020 that he had moved from California to Texas to be near the facility. In addition to Austin, Texas, Dallas-Fort Worth has seen a big boom as it’s an established metropolitan area with a large availability of industrial and warehouse space. Florida is another state that has seen an influx of migrating companies. Many New York-based organizations have been making the move there.
When deciding about moving headquarters to a new city, companies are examining tax implications, as well as growth opportunity, a community’s labor pool, proximity to universities, infrastructures. The advance Group assists in pre-planning and advising on timelines, logistics, budgets and warehousing needs.
As companies continue are finding success with work-from-home models during the COVID-19 pandemic the return to office is looking different. In the next episode we’ll discuss making accommodations to existing office space.
