Today in the Neighborhood, we had Victoria Johnson, council member and candidate.  The bulk of our discussion was over the police department expansion and the relevant funding questions.  Some misinformation is floating around out there, so I would ask that if you want to to know more about the situation, please check out this podcast before responding to information you see floating around social media.  Let's not let this race become one of gossip, innuendo, and distortion because some people find it entertaining.  Neither she, nor her opponent Steve McAnnally, deserve that.

Today in the Mr. Allard's Neighborhood, Kristy Gilbert (and Vickie McElroy off camera!) of the Burleson Citizens Police Academy Alumni Association (the BCPAAA) informs us as to what they do to support our Burleson PD.  There's a fundraising event on May 11, so check out their FB page and other social media.

I learned a lot from the women of the Amanda Mann Clark Project, a group that is trying to raise awareness for the diagnosis and treatment of colorectal cancer. It particularly stresses the need for colonoscopies, no one's idea of a fun day but vitally necessary. Also check out their fundraiser Cornholes for Buttholes (really!) on April 28th at Martin House Brewing in FW.
