If you spend your life concentrating on buying assets then you will become very rich. I didn’t learn the real and simple definition of what an “asset” really is until I graduated from college. That’s so horrible. Even if someone told me what an “asset” was at a young age, or even if I knew how to write the definition on a school test; in reality I really had no clue what it really meant. This episode is to help you know what an “asset” really is and definitely make a list of the many assets that exist and then learn as much as you can about the ones that interest you. Your mind is the most valuable asset that you will ever have, and now you just want to begin to add to it as you progress through life. Education is an asset as well as it can help to put money into your pocket, but a “financial education” is the type that you want to seek and go after with great vigor and energy.

Jake Butler, along with Dr. Curtis Wilkinson, will be opening Miami Dade’s first medical clinic for those that have been diagnosed with sickle cell disease and that require ongoing medical treatment. The clinic is expected to open in late May 2020 and will be located in Miami Gardens. Hours of operation, to start, will be 8am to 8pm, Saturday and Sunday, with anticipated future expansion to 24 hours 7 days a week. This podcast will not only serve as a way to stay updated with the latest information, but also weekly discussions on topics relative to living with sickle cell disease. Topics will include the latest news in the sickle cell community, learning about potential investing methods that can have a positive impact on ones financial future, family life, alternative pain methods, and sharing knowledge of job opportunities conducive for those living with sickle cell. As life is challenging enough by itself, including the dynamics of sickle cell anemia can definitely cause one to feel that their life goals are out of reach. It is my hope that this podcast will serve in creating and growing a community that supports all aspects of having an abundant life that one day will be pain free.

Financial literacy is not taught in the school system; therefore it is better if you make the sacrifice today in order to have a better and more prosperous tomorrow. This may sound sound easy and doable, but very few actually commit. I hope to give you a road map of a road that I have traveled and continue to climb. The harvest is very plentiful, but very few would like to put in the work. Have Patience but make progress...
