I want to talk about how we can use poetry to model creativity for our students and children. I’m going to share a couple silly poems I wrote with my class, and talk about the importance of creating a safe space for creative expression.

I was thinking about a time when I needed something for a fencing camp I was teaching, and being unable to find what I needed I chose to create it myself. The experience made me think about what it means to take creative risks, and how we are not limited by what the world makes available to us.

I had a few more mostly unscripted thoughts to share about vulnerability, so come along as I ramble and mull over how vulnerability, tribe and confidence intersect.

Vulnerability and authenticity are often praised in today’s culture, but there are also some dangers to being vulnerable.

I want to share a poem with you that I recently wrote as I reflected on my desire to live life more deeply (pretty sure I said that wrong).
