For NBC, it means trying on a Canadian drama series called “The Listener,” starring Craig Olejnik and Ennis Esmer as paramedic partners. If that sounds a little like the NBC hit from the 1970s, “Emergency!” wait for the catch: Olejnik’s character, Toby Logan, is a telepath. Joining me today to discuss “The Listener,” which airs Thursday nights on NBC at 9 pm, is Ennis Esmer.

From 2009: Paul Fitzgerald, the first managing editor of PS Magazine—which was founded by Will Eisner—worked with Eisner longer than probably anyone else. They traveled overseas together and shared many social moments in each other’s company. A long time dream of Fitz’s was a book that shared with the world one of the lesser known periods of Eisner’s life, his 20 years at the art helm of PS Magazine, the Army’s preventive maintenance magazine.

From 2009: Craig Yoe has a dirty little secret. Actually, it is Joe Shuster’s secret; Yoe happens to be the researcher who uncovered and exposed it to the world. Turns out that the artist and co-creator of Superman spent a few years in the 1950s, post-Man of Steel, churning out fetish girl art to earn a living. Honestly, I think he got it wrong, right off the top, listing The Masters as the No. 1 event you have to see live. The Masters? C’mon, golf isn’t even a real sport! Spectacle, yes, sport, no. He seems to have found his calling in writing nonfiction: he is the author of "Illegal," "Solomon vs. Lord," "The Deep Blue Alibi" and "Kill All the Lawyers."
