Hopscotch is fun, but not when you keep bumping into your friend! And it’s absolutely no fun when you and your friend keep talking at the same time! Letter a and Letter z try to take turns but it just isn’t working. They need a way to know when to take turns. They need to know when one idea has ended, so they can be ready for the next idea to begin. What they need is a period! Letter a describes a period as round/ Letter z finds a ball, the sun, and a blueberry pie. None of them are the small dot that marks a full stop between thoughts. Just then, Mr. Period himself shows up! He helps Letters a and z pause, listen to each other, and practice taking turns, just like friends do!
