The Clean and Filthy Podcast has been committed to working people through the 12 steps and 12 traditions. This episode is one that I am very proud of and so excited to share. I had the privilege and opportunity to chat with Shane Ramer. Shane is the host of one of the largest sobriety/recovery podcasts out there, That Sober Guy Podcast. In my podcasting and sobriety, he inspires me weekly, and I'm so grateful for his time on the show.

That Sober Guy has been on the podcast airwaves since 2014, and has now grown into a massive community and resource to help people get and stay sober. I am one of the 30, 000 monthly listeners and have contributed to the millions of downloads the show has had. 

Shane shares the story of the creation of That Sober Guy, how it has helped him stay sober, and gives insight on how he got sober after 17 years of using drugs and alcohol. We talk about learning how to feel, where faith comes into it all, he shares some wisdom through his experiences, and has some super kind words for me at the end of the show.

This week I have a conversation with myself, and a one-way conversation with all of you about the last two weeks in my recovery life/sober brain. 

Staying sane while staying sober can have its ups and downs. Our world does not stop, slow down, or treat us better just because we're sober. Adjusting to life, and learning about who we are is vital in recovery. 

This week I dive into some issues that have risen up in my sobriety journey. Everytime I'm in a meeting, I grab my notepad, pen, and write down notes from all the wisdom that is shared in these rooms. I go over some things I've been learning and some wisdom I've held onto from the rooms. I talk about routines, guarding the mind, sobriety brothers, taking care of yourself and a bunch more. 

Talking to myself has kind of become therapeutic for me, and I hope it helps you too!

This week, I got the chance to meet and chat real life with Andrew Demske. 

Andrew and I hit it off quickly, this was a fun one. We talk not only his story, but sobriety in general.

Next, I share with you my experience and thoughts on the Victim Mentality. The victim mentality can be inevitable in addiction. You may be a victim, but you have the power to take responsibility, and reshape your life. You don't have to have victim mentality.

In this episode I talk to a new friend, all around good guy, Recovery Mike. Recovery Mike is a recovery coach, father and husband. We go on his crazy journey of early childhood trauma, creating a victim mindset at a young age, how he started drinking and escaping from reality, how he got sober, the tragedy in his life after getting sober and on and on and on we go.
