On this week's MRR Radio,  guest DJ Hilmar spins from the history of punk pirate radio history.

This time again from Leipzig located in the former German Democratic Republic. Punk songs were being played on the radio since 1976 perhaps. Only it was mostly radio dj's belonging to another generation, who would play them. John Peel for example in London. Radio wasn't so easily accessible to punks, there were pirate radio stations in Europe in the late 70s and community radio or college radio in the US, but it wasnt as easy as glueing together a fanzine or putting together a compilation tape. But there was a stronger pirate radio movement in countries like Italy or the Netherlands... but off cause i start with MRR in itself, as we know, it all started as a radio show in april 1977.
