Investors are pouring money into equal-weight S&P 500 strategies as the flagship Invesco S&P 500 Equal Weight ETF hits $100 billion in assets under management for the first time. The fund has taken in more than $12 billion this year alone and is outperforming the cap-weighted S&P by roughly three percentage points through August 21. The shift comes as the so-called Magnificent Seven stocks delivered flat performance in the first half of 2026 while the broader index rose 9.3%. Money managers say the move reduces concentration risk after years of mega-cap dominance and lets investors capture earnings growth across the other 493 names. And in the logistics real economy a power cut at CrossCountry’s Birmingham control centre forced the cancellation of almost all its rail services across Great Britain this morning. Routes from Glasgow to Edinburgh, Manchester to Birmingham, Cheltenham to Cardiff and Newcastle to Edinburgh were all halted. Limited services continue between Peterborough, Cambridge and Stansted Airport with rail replacement buses on the Leicester to Peterborough corridor. Transport Secretary Heidi Alexander has ordered extra services where possible while engineers work to restore power. CrossCountry has opened ticket acceptance on other operators and says Sunday tickets remain valid until Wednesday the 26th. Passengers delayed by 30 minutes or more can claim delay repay compensation or a full refund. Bitcoin is down two tenths of one percent at $77,282. Ethereum is off half a percent at $2,444. And finally a 57-year-old man from Saltash in Cornwall has completed a 2,800 mile journey across Australia on a non-electric kick scooter. Bob Brown finished the Perth to Sydney trek in 31 days 4 hours and 10 minutes, becoming the first person to cross the country by running, cycling and scootering.
