While May is Maternal Mental Health Month, every day is a good day to have a conversation about maternal mental health. I had a powerful conversation with the co-founders of BeMomaware Brenna Rizan, LCSW, author and advocate Jessica Walker, and BeMomaware ambassador, Mother, Latin Community Advocate Monica Cardenas. Cheryl brought it real and raw as she discussed her life as a 12-year old mother, drug addiction, imprisonment and the death of her only child. She now has her master’s degree in clinical psychology specializing in trauma, she is a community and mental health advocate and a television executive producer.
