Sermon Notes
  • The ascension is the final divine stamp of approval of Christ’s ministry.
  • It marks the completion of  our Lord’s earthly ministry.
  • On the day of ascension, Jesus gave His disciples a promise of the Holy Spirit and a commission to be His witnesses to the ends of the earth.
  • The source of the disciples’ joy is the assurance of Christ’s continuous presence with them.
    • Sermon Application
    1. What is the source of our joy as Christians especially in turbulent times?
    2. How is our witness of Christ in a culture that is hostile to the gospel?
    3. Christianity is a gift and a task. Receiving the gift of God’s inner closeness and as a consequence- bearing witness to His Lordship. May we all begin to look for witnessing opportunities in our lives.
    4. Ask God how you can have a part in His mission to the rest of the world.
