Sermon Outline

In this sermon we will be focusing on the seed that fell on stone (rocky) soil.

  1. There are four types of soils (human hearts) in this parable.
  2. Seed (the gospel) was broadcast on all four soils.
  3. There was the unresponsive heart--the wayside soil. There was the superficial heart-- the rocky soil. There was the worldly heart-- the soil of thorns. And then the receptive heart-- the good soil.
  4. The seed that fell on the rocky soil did not deepen its roots and lacked moisture.

    1. Are you truly converted?
    2. Are you rooted in God's Word?
    3. How deep are your roots?
    4. How is your heart?
    5. What are the rocks in your life that are causing the seed (God's Word) not to take root and bear fruit?
    6. Does your soil (heart) lack moisture?
