Don’t just take our word for it . . . take His! We would encourage you to spend time examining the following Scriptures that shaped this sermon: 1 Corinthians 1:18 – 31, Matthew 16:21 – 23.Sermon Notes
Wisdom is “recognizing reality and responding rightly.”Paul presents two perspectives on the “word of the cross” (the message about Jesus’ death on a cross and what it means).Worldly wisdom perspective – the message of the cross is folly, a wrong view of ultimate reality
Godly wisdom perspective – the message of the cross is wisdom, a right view of ultimate reality
The Conflict – God destroys worldly wisdom because it fails in its most essential task of recognizing reality and responding rightly (and thereby deceives people).
