We are not meant to live the Christian life alone. As spiritual exiles, we need a strong connection to a community of faith. Peter calls us “living stones” that are being built into a “spiritual house.” God knows each one of us uniquely but he also “builds us together” into something greater than ourselves. Christian community is characterized by two particular things:
