Don't just take our word for it . . . take His! We would encourage you to spend time examining the following Scriptures that shaped this sermon: Samuel 21:1–14; Mark 8:1–8
How can we become a people with something to offer a world unable to reconcile with the sins of its past? The grisly story of 2 Samuel 21 bears a remarkable answer to this question — if we are willing for God to show us ourselves in its characters. Once we do, we will discover both that we have real responsibility before God in how we grapple with by-gone sins and their ripple effects. Wonderfully, we will also find a precious reminder that the One who atones is no earthly king like David, but the God David knows.
