Come along for a trip through how to be good at sucking at things.

More than ten minutes of uninterrupted riding footage. No music, no voice over, and just the unadulterated sounds of tires on single track and the occasional call of a forest bird.

Use this if you can't get out onto the trails or when you need to take a break. It also works nicely as just audio if you want to play it in the background.

I sat down with SoCal local and former racer, Matt Palmer, and we chatted about his journey through mountain biking and into the strange and sometimes dismaying world of our public lands system.

In this special Socially Distant Edition of the RAW VLOG, I take staying in as an opportunity to reach out and interview Matt Palmer. We share some stories, have some laughs and discuss the value of our public lands, threats to our access of them, and what we can to do preserve them.

The Sedona Mountain Bike Festival is still fresh in my brain, so this episode is about the culture of the festival, the trails around it, my stoke for it.

You'll also hear my thoughts on YouTubers being a new segment in the mountain bike community, how real they are, and the fact that there is some hate out there for YouTubers. Some of these thoughts came from hanging out with The Crashing Dad, Paul The Punter, Trail Features, and Daily MTB Rider . I forgot to mention that I got to hang out with Donna Ellsworth . I think I forgot about hanging out with Donna because we didn't really hang out at the festival but instead, hung out on the trail...which is kinna cooler. 😁

In today's RAW VLOG, I speak about sucking at most things and being good at a few things. This is the new role of mediocrity in my mountain biking and in my life in general.

I have often been plagued by the crazy-making and sometimes paralyzing need to be excellent at whatever it is I am doing. Recently, I have been working to give myself permission to be "just OK" in some (or most) areas of my life with the goal of reducing stress and conserving energy and concentration on being excellent in more specific areas of my riding and life.
