Welcome to episode number fourteen. We are chatting with Martin McMullan who is the Director of the Life Adventure Centre which houses the Castlewellan Mountain Bike Trails. I wanted to mainly chat to Martin about the Mourne Psycle 24hr Mountain Bike Race which the centre has just held. But I also wanted to chat to Martin about the centre, what it does, who they cater to, what activities they provide and how the mountain bike trails have been received.
We chat in depth about the 8hr and 24hr races. We talk about why these races were started and if the 24hr race (which was run for the first time this years) was always in the future plans. We chat about the success of the races and how it helps Castlewellan in general. We also talk about how the Glyn O'Brien camp started out doing the race for a bit of fun and ended up in a competitive nail biting race.
In episode thirteen it is my pleasure to welcome Jamie and Bruce from the brand MudHugger. MudHugger has been going from strength to strength basically from the beginning. Jamie and Bruce started the brand of the back of having dirty backs! They design and make all their products in the UK and ship all over the world.
We chat about why they felt the need to start the brand, how the products are produced, the support they have had from magazines etc.. from the start and how they have come to ship their product all over the world. This is a great chat with a couple of great guys who produce an awesome product.

On our Thirteenth Episode and our Third 'Why I Ride' instalment it is a pleasure to welcome Lisa-Marie Feehan to the show. Lisa-Marie is from Dublin but now lives in Whistler, Canada.
Lisa-Marie has been mountain biking for a few years and has great input related to starting mountain biking, how to improve and move on from a bad fall, among many other things.
Lisa-Marie seems to be in love with life and in love with mountain biking. She has great things to say about mountain biking and the complete Whistler package in general. We talk about, ladies coaching camps, the price of lift tickets, how to ride Whistler for free (leg powder required), what's on offer for purchase in the stores as far as bikes and riding gear, how to make mountain biking a social event and ride with friends, areas to ride outside of Whistler and of course why Lisa-Marie rides and what she loves about mountain biking.

Its episode eleven and its time to get your bike set-up for the winter months. I chat with Kieran and Louis, founders of Mech Monkey about those very things.
I ran into the guys at the Mourne 24hr race at Castlewellan, got chatting and they very kindly agreed to come onto the show. We hooked-up at their workshop/store in Belfast (and what a cool workshop it is) on a Friday evening to talk bike maintenance, set-up, tyre pressures and a load of other stuff bike related.
The guys have a long and successful background in the bike maintenance world and certainly know their stuff. It was great to get them on the show and spend some time with them in their workshop.

Glyn's mountain bike career has spanned from the 90's to the present. Glyn raced the UCI Downhill World Cup circuit from 1997 - 2006. In 2009 Glyn came 2nd in the World Masters Downhill Championships. He also had an awesome 3rd place finish at the 2003 Redbull Rampage and a Gold at the World Police and Fire Games in Canada in 2011 and the same in 2013 at home in Northern Ireland. We chat about all of the above including his MTB coaching business, First Tracks MTB, plus much more.
Its episode ten and its the man himself, Glyn O'Brien. I was super stoked to get Glyn on the show and I have to say a huge thank you to Ethan from Mountain Bike NI for sowing the seeds and helping make this happen.

In episode number nine it is awesome to have our first bike builders on the show. Burf Tam Racing Fabrications (BTR) are bespoke hand made and manufactured bikes build in the UK. The business is owned and run by Burf and Tam, a two man team. Burf and Tam do everything in house from design to welding and are super passionate about their brand. We talk to them about everything that is involved in owning a bike company, hand building bikes, the up's and down's and the motivation that keeps them going.
