MTG Grindcast

We got the bans that we asked for! And an extra one, just in case! What a deal! We're breaking down our new, super fair standard this week, and answering all your questions. Is Kroxa good? Yes. Should you play rogues? See question one. And more!

Thanks as always to Wave Sunray for our music.

Here's a preview of our latest patron-only bonus episode! If you'd like to hear the full 2 hour episode (and all our monthly bonus episodes) head over to patreon.com/mtggrindcast and pledge at any tier. Thanks so much for your support!

Well, no, probably not. But the results are in from the first weekend post-Uro ban and they are...inconclusive. It's possible that Omnath isn't the only deck you're allowed to play, and that's something, right? We're taking a look at standard and even a little historic in the leadup to this weekend's Grand Finals!

All right, we got our ban. And...it's just Uro. But don't let an abandoned standard keep you from getting excited for, uh, mechanically unique The Walking Dead Secret Lair cards? Am I reading this right?

Zendikar's not even out yet but new standard is in full swing, with one particular four color, four-armed elemental swinging harder than the rest. We also take a look at modern, the opposite format of current standard, where you can play damn near anything and have a shot.

It's here! And you can't play it on arena yet for some reason so you might as well listen to the set review. We're going over our top 5 cards in each color, and trying to make not all of them MDFCs. And it's all complete with a surprise spooky ending!

Our first ever Patreon-exclusive episode is up, and we posted this teaser to let you know what you're missing out on. We go over sideboarding with linear decks, from combo decks to engine decks to aggro decks, with a healthy supply of examples from our own magic history. If you're not a patron yet, hopefully this is a good excuse to become one! Head over to patreon.com/mtggrindcast to listen to this episode and get sent some stuff!

With the first historic Mythic Invitational this weekend and some SCG historic lists to look at we break down Duel Decks: Goblins vs. Mayhem Devil. Er, the historic format. But mostly we talk about NEW CARDS!

With approximately a dozen new sets on the horizon, we've got a ton to explore in this episode! From Jace shoes to Yargle secret lairs to, uh, actual spoilers for standard legal cards there's a little something for everyone here.

This week! We're joined by legacy aficionado Anuraag Das, who's giving us the rundown on the format leading up to the Manatraders tournament this weekend. We're packing as many 2019-2020 cards as we can into this episode about Magic's (ostensibly) oldest format.
